Photo Contest Rules

To our valued members:

It is our desire to provide a site for those that take photography seriously. Effective with our January 2007 contest, only eligible voting members may vote. We have a small number of "judges" available right now and intend to add to our list over time. Winners of any given contest will be given an opportunity to become an eligible voting member, however we reserve the right to ban any voting member this privilage at any time for any reason (translated - if we think a voting member is cheating - they will be banned).

1. The contest is open to amateurs and professionals.

2. Only registered members may submit photos.

3. Scanned film photos and or digital photos are acceptable. We DO NOT accept any photos that promote pornographic, hate, illegal, racist, or offensive activities. Any such photos submitted to us will be removed from our site, you will forfeit your submission fee and your rights to claim any award, and your account will be suspended.

4. Entries may be color or black and white. All entries must be photographed by you and submitted electronically using the Submission Form.

5. Your photo must:

• be submitted in jpg/JPEG format only.
• be approximately 640x480 to 800x600 pixels in size (larger images will be resized).
• not be larger than 300 KB.
• not need trimming, cropping or editing.
• not have been digitally altered in any way (disqualifies photo from any $ award).
• not feature the intellectual property of others (e.g., a sign containing a registered trademark).

6. You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all photos entered.

7.First, second and third place winners will be notified via e-mail as soon as voting is completed. Winning photos will be published in the Winners Corner at Judge My Photos. All first, second, and third place photos will be entered into our Annual Photo Contest. (see below for details)

8. Winners will be determined by eligible voting members of Judge My Photos Web Site. Only eligible voting members may vote. Monthly winning photos will be determined by those photos that receive the most votes. In the event of ties, the winner will be determined by Judge My Photos using a proprietary tie breaking logarithm. Decisions on all matters relating to the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition and Judge My Photos.

9. At the end of each contest year all first, second, and third place winners will be included in a judging for a special Judge My Photos - Photo Of The Year Award. There are no other awards other than the first place winner in this contest.

10. The deadline for entries is the last day of each month for next month's contest.

11. This is a monthly contest.

13. We reserve the right to change the contest rules without prior notification.
